In her book Strength Renewed, Shirley Corder opens her heart to those that are traveling the road that breast cancer is taking them down. She a survivor, herself, she can say, "I've been there, done that." That is what make this book so real, from the voice of someone that has experienced what you are experiencing right now. These devotional meditations were written with you, the reader, in mind and will help you in your journey from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. She knows the physical, emotional and spiritual roller coaster that you are about to ride on. She remembers the day she heard those words from the doctor, "You have cancer." Corder will encourage you as you fight cancer and and come out on top.
Each chapter starts with a scripture passage to read, brief thought concerning the passage and your cancer journey that pertains to the scripture that was read, some thought provoking questions to answer either mentally or written in a journal and a prayer wrapped up with one single scripture passage that would be nice to memorize for the day's meditation. The book contains 90 short (two page spread) meditations just for your journey. I pray that you, like Corder will be able to say....

Definitely a book I would buy for anyone who is staring cancer in the face. Only God, family and true friends can walk with you on your journey to recovery, and this book will keep you faithful in the promised God gives us in His Word.
Thanks Shirl for sharing your experiences with others. I have witness two friends suffer from cancer and i know this is not a journey one can take on alone. God bless you.
Thanks for sharing about this book. Shirl has such a passion for reaching out to those whose lives have been affected by cancer. I know that this book will a huge blessing to those on this journey as well as those wanting to encourage them.
I won a copy of "Strength Renewed". I have just perused the first few chapters. I agree with Shirley's thought that when one person gets Cancer, the whole family gets it. I transported my stepmother to her radiation treatments the SECOND time she had Breast Cancer. It was a hard summer but it was also a memorable one. I'm thankful I could help her in this way.
"Strength Renewed" is a beautifully written book filled with inspiration and hope for those going through the cancer valley.
I'm buying an extra copy to send to someone special who is currently undergoing treatment.
Thank you for posting this review, and thanks to those who have left comments. I appreciate all you do to get this book into the hands of those who need its encouragement and inspiration.
I was privileged to get a signed copy of Strength Renewed from Shirl when I visited her in Port Elizabeth last week. Although not facing cancer, I am so enjoying reading Shirley's devotions every morning and the scriptures, challenges and principles she writes of can be applied to every day life. I highly recommend Strength Renewed as a daily devotional, whether you're facing the cancer valley or not.
Sent this to my friend now undergoing treatment. Shirl has written a wonderful, uplifting manuscript for those undergoing treatment. Thanks Shirl. Clella Camp
Thanks to all who participated in this blog tour and for your encouraging words about Strength Renewed. Be blessed!
