My Favorite Bible

With the vibrant illustrations and engaging text in this Bible storybook, you can enjoy sharing the best-loved stories of the Bible with the children in your life and encourage a life-long love for the Word of God. My Favorite Bible is a book of exciting Bible stories and activity pages that guide children through the foundational truths of Scripture.

Each story is fully illustrated and includes a simple narrative full of things kids love: repetition, rhythm, and energy, along with a key biblical theme, a key Bible verse, and discussion questions to help adults introduce children to the Bible.

The colorful illustrations will capture the imaginations of children ages 4–8, and the stories will help adults to pass along the most important truth in life—the Gospel. Families will cherish this time as they read, listen, learn, and love, growing closer to one another even as they grow closer to God.

  • This is not a children’s Bible. It is a Bible story book that includes key verses and parent pages called “Family Talk” and “Family Fun” to assist adults in discussing the stories with children.

Paws and Tales: putting others first #4

Chuck Swindoll's DVD series Paws & Tales is a wonderful way to present good Christian morals and values with young children.  These animated stories with character traits and values are excellent.  I'd share them with any young child that visited in my home.  Right at the beginning of each story Chuck Swindoll does about a 2-3 minute talk about what the lesson will be about, this may lose the youngest of viewers, but if they can get through that they will be captivated by the animated characters and the story and lessons that are presented in these dvds.  The stories are sound Bible lessons with wonderful values for our children today to learn they aren't getting it from Hollywood that is for sure.

Chuck Swindoll's Paws & Tales: God Cares for You DVD

I was so excited after watching the first story on this DVD.  The bible story message is there in cartoon form that is bound to hold your child's attention.  This DVD has two stories on it The Good Shepherd and A Good Foundation.  There are also bonus features of songs the words pop up on the screen with a dot that moves so a child that reads can sing along with the song.  There are also some activity sheets that can be printed off if you put the DVD into your computer and open the adobe file along with adult teaching resources to use with the movie as discussion starters.  The movie can be watched in English or Spanish.  Each movie is about 25 minutes in length.  I applaud Mr. Swindoll and all that had a hand in producing this wonderful Christian bible story movie series.  I look forward to more to come.  Read to the end of this post and find out how you can win a copy.

Daniel's Diary by Allia Zobel Nolan

I was a little disappointed with this book. It is written as though you're reading Daniel's diary of things that happened in his life. However, I felt it put Daniel off as arrogant, prideful and of Macho nature. Maybe it was just me; I wasn't impressed with it.

The Jesus Book by Stephen Elkins

If your child likes to learn about Jesus then this is the book for them to find under the Christmas tree. What better gift to find on Christmas than a gift about the person that Christmas is all about. The reason for the season. Jesus. This book will answer any question your child might have about Jesus.

  • Who He is
  • What He did
  • What He taught

There is even a timeline showing when the events happened. Maps showing where the events happened. A section explaining why the events happened and how they happened. It's all backed by scripture verses for you child to look up and read.

If your child has questions about Jesus then this is a good book to get for them. Of course outside of the best book: The Holy Bible.

The book comes with a song CD. There are 30 children's songs on the CD all having to do with Jesus.

Want a good book and DVD to reinforce the Bible stories your young toddler will be hearing for the rest of their lives? Then this is the book for you. This book is a nice size, just right for the toddler's little hand, soft hard cover. It comes with a DVD of 14 of the more popular stories, Creation, Noah, Abram, Joseph, David, Moses and Baby Jesus + more: Balaam and Lost Sheep. The DVD stories are short 3 minute colorful animated stories that will hold your toddler's attention. The book has 40 Bible stories with illustrations that just as colorful as the DVD and designed to keep the toddler interested. Each story has an interactive learning suggestion at the end for the parent to give them some parent/child time. These activities reinforced the Bible story you've just read. There are fun catchy words throughout the stories too such as: splish and splash, flop, clop, clop and whoosh to name a few. The activities include pictures and collages to create, songs to sing and move to, stories to act out or actions to preform. There are task charts to make for good obedience rewards (stickers) and discussions to bring out. Toddler/Pre-School age will love this interactive book and DVD. Why not put one under the Christmas tree this December for your favorite toddler or pre-schooler. Mine is going to go in my church library.

100 Bible Stories & 100 Bible songs by Stephen Elkins

What a way to teach a young one Bible stories than with their very own Bible story book. This padded hard cover book is just the right size to fit in your lap along with your child. It isn't too big and bulky. The pictures are wonderful and would catch any youngster's eye. The Bible stories are very short for their little attention span. Each story has a life action application and a song on the CD to go along with it. Also for the older child you may look up the Bible story in your Bible if you wish. I was afraid I wouldn't like the CD's because I'm from the old church and don't like the rocky song of today, however, I was pleasantly surprised with the songs. They aren't rocky and any child would love to listen to the short choruses.

The stories are of wide variety from creation (the Beginning) to Rev. (the End). Your child will learn Old & New Testament stories. Adam, Moses, Noah, Elijah, Balaam Rahab, Ruth, Hannah and The disciples, Paul, Zacchaeus, and many others. The songs range from Bible story songs such as Only a Boy Named David or Who Built the Ark; to Bible Truth songs: Do Not Judge or To Obey is Better. There are Scripture verse songs such as Behold, Behold or Such a Time as This. Praise songs: What a Friend we have In Jesus, Kumbaya and you'll find Character building songs such as: Kindness, Sharing is caring and many more.

This is a thumbs up for any youngster ages 3-7 and old ones would just love to listen to the fun songs. My teenage girls do and so do I. Anyone with a young heart would love it. It's not too early to start think about Christmas. Highly recommended from a conservative.
