Are you ready for some Christian bubbles/myths to be busted? Author Amy Spiegel does just that in her book, Letting Go of Perfect. These myths are man made and tend to rob women of joy and cause them to go absolutely crazy in the process. You'll learn the truth about how God's Word can bring nie meaning to our every day life. Spiegel takes a look into our closet of Vanity Fair, our inner life that is evident in our outward choices. You'll find that you, yourself, is your own worst enemy. In order to be perfectly in line with God there are things that we need to let go of in life; we must let go of the idea of being perfect. What is right for one person may not be what God wants for you. We must be real, transparent. Spiegel shares 6 things we must let go of and 1 item we must grasp dearly.
How about you are you striving for perfect and just seem to be spinning your wheels? Well then maybe you could use a copy of Amy's book. I have one for giveaway. Is there something you feel you must let go of ....share in a comment or maybe you want to take a stab at one of the six things that Amy says must be let go of in the book. If you guess one of her 6 things you'll get a bonus entry for the book. Also I'm going to reward those that follow my blog tell me you are follower: gfc, email, etc.. and I'll give you a bonus. With honesty, creativity and sprinkled in humor Darlene shares her thoughts on what a job description of a mother would look like from her experience. She shares that which needs to be accomplished in the role and challenges found in the job. Brock concludes with the job may be difficult but seeks for those women that are willing to take up the task of raising daughters. No experience necessary; all on the job training. It isn't always easy but it will definitely make your life richer in the process. There is nothing more important or fulfilling than being a mother. I must say this was a very wonderful read and if you have little girls it is time you get started. However, if you have boys the same concepts could apply. Just a plain good motherhood book.
In
her debut book, Darlene, who balanced a career in the recording
industry alongside motherhood, relates 13 coaching metaphors for how to
raise children. In talking about her new project she stated: “This book
is about what I learned - about the jobs you need to master, the advice
from other women that helped me, as well as some realities about the
life and culture we live in that informed my perspective. You can take
on the most difficult job in theworld – raising daughters – and not only
live to tell about it, but smile along the way.”

At this time of the year we reflect on giving thanks..Well that is just what Chris Tomlin's new CD How Great is Our God is all about. Reflecting on who we should give thanks and praise to. Our thoughts and music should always be uplifting to the God who created us for His glory. I myself haven't yet gotten into the new praise worship type of music, but the music on Chris' cd is all about how wonderful Our God is. I'm still stuck in the old fashion hymns age. Chris' songs on this cd takes some of the hymns to the praise and worship level. Check out his site here.

"Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become." -C.S. Lewis
