These books of Carole P. Roman are excellent books to introduce children to many cultures.  Pre-Schoolers to 8 year olds will learn from Roman's If you were me and lived in...series.  It will take your child (student) on an adventure as books do.  They can't visit the countries physically, but they can go through a book.  Roman's books will take them on this adventure.  Expose your child to different cultures through this exciting series.  I just passed on my Norway copy to a little four-year-old girl that was in our church this past Sunday.  Her parents are taking God's Word to the people of Norway.  She was so excited to get the book and get a taste of what her life in Norway will be like.  You may visit Roman's web site and learn of all her books she's written.   As a elementary teacher I can say this is an awesome educational series giving students a little taste of different cultures.  .

About the author:
Award winning author Carole P. Roman is a former teacher turned businesswoman. She has successfully run a family business with her husband. Her most favorite job is being grandmother to her many grandchildren. She currently lives on Long Island with her husband.

What Would the Founding Fathers Think by David Bowman

You couldn't ask for a more plainer book explaining where we are heading in America if some action doesn't take place.  Written so middle school children can understand it, but a message adults need to read and adhere too.  I am so in agreement with everything this author has pinned in this book.  I think it should be required reading for 4-5 graders.  It is a message we so need to take very seriously in this day and time.  We need to not lose sight of the vision our forefathers had.  Written in a fun kid form cartoon type illustrations and texting format.  Definitely a message that needs to catch with the younger folks.  Visit the web site here.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
David Bowman’s passion is teaching and working with youth. He has taught at a high school level and is a popular youth motivational speaker, traveling around the country to speak at various venues. David is the author/illustrator of several books for young audiences, including the best-selling Who’s Your Hero series. In addition, David is the artist of the Christian art series titled “Expressions of Christ.” David is also passionate about restoring this nation back to its founding principles. Along with authoring this book, he is actively involved with the American Academy for Constitutional Education and other conservative groups. David and his wife, Natalie, and their four children live in Arizona.

Building Families One Meal at a Time: Six Sisters Release New Cook-Craft-Create Book

Six Sisters Stuff
With busy schedules, after-school activities, late workdays and long commutes, is sitting down to a family dinner still possible?
The authors of Six Sisters’ Stuff (Shadow Mountain, ISBN: 978-1-60907-324-4, $21.99, March 2013) say YES!
In their debut cookbook, the sisters (yes, six biological sisters— Camille, Kristen, Elyse, Stephanie, Lauren, and Kendra) show families just how simple putting dinner on the table can be.  From Baked Chicken Fajitas to Slow Cooker Pot Roast Sliders to Mini Oreo Cheesecakes, Six Sisters’ Stuff has nearly 100 easy-to-follow recipes that use ingredients commonly found in your pantry.  Each recipe includes easy-to-follow instructions and photographs that eliminate any guess work.

Six Sisters’ Stuff evolved from the sisters’ blog SixSistersStuff.com, that began in February 2011 out of their love to cook, craft, and create. After years of living close to one another, they suddenly found themselves living in different parts of the country and used the blog to stay in touch and share ideas. In just two short years, SixSistersStuff.com has quickly become one of the most popular food and craft blogs, receiving on average 5 million page views per month, with over 130,000 Facebook fans and more than 190,000 Pinterest followers (as of 2/7/13).
Six Sisters’ Stuff also includes a collection of simple and inexpensive craft ideas – how to make hand puppets, felt bows, decorative wreaths, and more – plus lists of fun family activities for road trips, entertaining rainy-day ideas, healthy snack suggestions, and even some recommendations for cheap date nights. This family-focused cookbook is really more of an idea book to help families create fun, lasting memories together.

Alphabet Anatomy by Linda Ann Jones

Explore the Art of Learning the Letters and their Lives ALPHABET ANATOMY looks behind the scenes at the letters … because they’re not always busy making words.

In Linda Jones' book Alphabet Anatomy it is all about forming the letters.  Jones and put together a very cute book for kids that are learning to form their letters.  And what better way than in a fun reading book.  This particular book deals with the formation of the capital letters.  The small alphabet anatomy is yet to come in another book.  This book could be used in so many ways.  It also catches their attention in that it is written in rhyming verse.  The illustrations are just as instructive as the words themselves in that they see how to write the letter.  Each letter is portrayed with its own unique personality and characteristics.

Here are four things that your child will learn by the end of this book:
  1. letter shape and/or recognition
  2. letter names
  3. letter sounds
  4. how to form the letter
Thus giving them the foundation for proficient reading
  1. phonological awareness
  2. letter idetification
  3. vocabulary development
  4. recalling and retelling sentences and stories
I don't think you could ask for a more worth while book to invest in.

visit the book's web site here.

In Alphabet Anatomy, the letters love to share their lives, and their highest aspiration is that each child who meets them will embrace this wondrous journey, and develop a life-long love for not only reading but writing as well.

Linda Jones is a mom to four talented sons, ages 17 to 27, and the wife of a handsome firefighter. She began writing poetry in 1978 and sold several titles commercially in the scrapbooking market. Alphabet Anatomy is her first series of children’s books. When asked what inspired her to write Meet the Capital Letters, Jones says it was quite by accident. She wrote the verses ten years ago while helping her youngest son (Branson) practice his letter writing skills, but tucked the verses away in a file cabinet. She recently discovered them while cleaning out the cabinet and asked Branson (who by then had demonstrated exceptional artistic talent) if he could make some drawings. Branson brought the letters to life, and Jones brought a mock book to the local library. The librarian praised the book and told Jones that parents had often asked for an alphabet book instructing on how to write the letters but she had not known of any. Jones was encouraged to move forward with publishing and Alphabet Anatomy was born. Jones says it has long been her desire to do something to make a positive difference in the world. If she can accomplish that goal by helping children embrace and master these vital skills, no matter how small a part, she will be most humbled and thrilled beyond comprehension.

When Grandparents Divorce by Katie Saint

This is a very well written book to help children get through the process of  their Grandparents' divorce.  When they were use to the way things were and then changes happen.  The author has provided parents a guide to help say and do things to ease the tension and confusion children may have.   The book will help your child share his/her feelings and understand that no matter what happens they are still loved by both parents and grandparents.

Katie focuses on helping clients recognize and build on their own strengths to meet their personal goals.

Katie Saint graduated from Lakeland College with a Master's Degree in Counseling, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She specializes in extreme behavioral problems. She provides individual, couple, pre-marital, and family counseling to children, adolescents and adults. Katie has over 4000 hours working with adults, children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. She also offers an emotional control program for adolescents and adults struggling with impulsive behavior or emotional regulation. Katie utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques including the combination of behavioral, cognitive and psychoanalytic tools.
