Teaser Tuesday ~ Dawn's Prelude

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought I would play for fun! Just do the following:

His comment was entirely out of line for a a man of his position, but Evie couldn't be angry with him. His flattery was like food to a starving man-or woman, in this case. She lowered her gaze and smiled. What could it hurt to flirt with him a bit?
