In this book Joyce tries to help the reader learn how to hear from God. Listening must be learned. We must be tuned into God and not let busyness of things take our minds away from our time we spend with God. Listening is the important key to hearing. It takes practice to develop a listening ear. Part one of the book she touches on Learning to listen and then in part two helps us to learn to obey. She has provided discussion questions after each chapter. This book could be used in a group setting.
"Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become." -C.S. Lewis
