Teaser Tuesday ~ Uncle Eben's Christmas

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, f hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought I would play for un! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Eben continued, "I thought I made it very clear at the onset of the holiday season that we are to refrain from using the word Christmas in our conversations with the customers."  We  are to use the word holiday instead wherever applicable.  We are doing this to placate those whom the word Christmas might offend."

If Merry Christmas seems like the appropriate thing to say, then say it. If anyone is offended, it's their problem. Unless they sue you or something, which is not unthinkable in our day and age.
