Teaser Tuesday ~ Downtown Green

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, so I thought I would play for fun! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

In a town filled with people I cared about, Jerry Turner was an ongoing challenge.  After losing the mayor's race to Eva Hillburn by only a handful of votes, Jerry had turned into a grouch.  

Maybe he'd always been a grouch, come to think about it.  

As a banker, he liked to throw his employer's weight around.  As a political wannabe, he liked to criticize Eva, the newspaper, and anyone or anything else that didn't "do to suit him," as Tammy said.
