The author used a hola hoop as her inspiration for this book. Based on rhythm in the life of a mom. (why we need rhythm, creating rhythm and sharing rhythm) Each chapter in the book is titled after a vintage childhood game/activity, so clever. You'll find the following chapters:
- Hula Hoops (of course)
- Teeter-totters
- Two or More Player games
- Hide-and-Seek
- Family Game Night
- Pinochle and Bingo
- Ring Toss
- Telephone
- Hopscotch
- Hot Potato
- Triple Dog Dare
- Flannelgraph
Loved the design and layout of this book as well. Each chapter opens with a brief description of the chapter and a quote or two or a scripture. Here is a sample of the beginning of each chapter....
Each chapter closes with 5 tips, that have been mom-tested, to help you get started with developing what the chapter discusses. 3 are practical tips, a prayer/blessing and a journal idea
Another thing about the book is at the end of the chapter there is a what works for you page along with random stuff page that lists, books and website references that you may want to check out.
So get beyond the 'just a mom' attitude and Rise up! Find your gifts/talents, passion that you'd naturally gravitate toward. Get connected with Tracey Bianchi's book Mom Connection.
