They are all taken from Michele Ashman Bell's YA book: Summer in Paris
Kenzie could barely make out the shapes of the others in the rain and darkness. Then, as they neared the bottom, her right foot slipped out from beneath her. She felt herself falling, then sliding. Grappling for branches or roots, she tumbled down the hill toward the raging stream. (p. 126)
"Can't a girl clean a toilet around this place without someone declaring a state of emergency?" Kenzie waved her toilet brush like a baton and flipped toilet water everywhere. (p. 150)
The snapping of a twig sent an electric shock through her.
"Who's there?" she asked, trying to keep the tremor from her voice.
Leaves rustled, but there was no wind. "Hello?" she called out. Was it Adam? "Hello?" she called again. Again, there was silence, but there was no doubt in her mind-someone was there. (p. 181, 182)
