Looking for questions????

Is there a question you'd love to ask an author?????

Well, I'm looking for interview questions to ask Children's author Janet Halfmann. You have done an awesome job asking Julie Lessman questions. Now think of a question for Janet. You may view my review for Janet's book Fur and Feathers here. It is an adorable book. Put on your thinking cap; What would you like to ask a Children's Book author???

Here is the deal.... For every question you post to me for the author? I'll give you one giveaway entry to the book when we do the book review, interview/giveaway. If Janet chooses to answer your question I'll give you another entry for the book. Keep in mind she is a children's book author. You may visit author Janet Halfmann's site here and look around or look around at Sylvan Dell Publishing

Here is a little bit about the book that I will be doing a review, author interview and giveaway on in the near future. Be watching.

Good Night, Little Sea Otter (Star Bright Books, Sept 2010) is a delightful bedtime story featuring a baby sea otter who says “good night” to each and every one of his ocean friends. It seems like he'll never close his eyes! But Mama’s loving arms and a cradle of kelp rocking on the waves finally lull him to sleep.

What is the specific purpose of your book?

What do you want the child to remember about the book?

How are you helping children reach out to Jesus through your writing?

Do you specific Scripture to accomplish that goal?

Hi Janet, It's good to learn about you and your books on Abi's blog.

1. Are there big differences in writing children's stories versus stories you would write for youth, young adults and adults?

2. Have you written fiction for more mature readers at any time?

3. Do you have children? Do you model your children, or children you know into the characters you create in your stories?

4. Do the children you know and observe have the physical characteristics or personality traits of the imaginary animal characters you write about?

5. Do you need to observe certain established guidelines by the publisher geared toward specific age groups?

6. Is there any specific scripture you write about or around as teaching points to your reading audience?

7. Many years ago, I took a writing course via mail based on a test advertised in a magazine. I concentrated on children's stories, and finally gave up, because I was told there was no market for the specific story subject I wrote about. Now at a late age, I still have that yen to write for the Lord. How often do you hear stories like mine and what do you advise the disgruntled writer? (really not a trick question, more about humor LOL)

Thank you, I'd be very pleased and proud if one of my questions were selected for your interview. I'd be equally pleased and delighted if I were to win your book. I have 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, some little ones who love gramma to read to them.
